The spread between Prague clinics is wide, and behind the difference stand concrete, describable things — the type of device, the size of the treated area and the number of sessions you will realistically need. How much does laser hair removal cost in Prague?
One session with us starts at 1 000 CZK and follows the size and extent of the treated zone. It is the same for women and men and does not depend on the laser used — you pay for the treated area, not for the device. The prices below are indicative; we confirm the final amount at the free consultation.
A session = one visit during which we treat the selected zone. Smaller areas are done in 5 to 20 minutes, larger ones take 30 to 90 minutes on average.

What does a whole course cost, not a single session?
You calculate the real cost as the price per session times the number of sessions. A complete course usually requires 5 to 8 sessions with a 4 to 8 week break — the hair is in different growth phases at the time of treatment and the laser always reaches only the active ones.

After completing the recommended number of sessions, the hair in the treated area does not grow back in up to 80 % of people. If the follicle does regenerate, the growth is sparser, weaker and lighter than the original. Why do laser hair removal prices differ between clinics?
Behind different pricing usually stand the type of device, the qualification of the operator and the number of sessions that device needs. A cheaper session with a weaker device may mean more repeats, so the final bill comes out the same or higher.
- Laser type. Most Czech providers use diode lasers. An alexandrite laser has a higher output and also handles lighter hair and a darker skin phototype.
- Zone size and hair density. The larger the area and the denser the growth, the longer the application and the higher the price. That is why treating the thighs costs several times more than the underarms.
- The number of repeats needed. A more powerful device usually completes the course in 5 to 8 sessions. Weaker technologies tend to need more.
- Operator qualification. A medical laser may only be operated by a trained specialist. An outdated device or an inexperienced operator are the two main causes of the burns discussed in online forums.
- Extra equipment. The cooling system, protective goggles, single-use supplies and the initial phototype assessment are reflected in the price even though you do not see them on the receipt.

Why is cheap IPL cheaper and why is it not the same as a laser?
IPL and a laser are not interchangeable technologies. IPL uses a broad-spectrum pulsed light source, a laser a single monochromatic one — it is more powerful and works more selectively, so it needs fewer repeats.

Is a laser worth it compared with shaving and waxing?
Laser hair removal is more expensive as a one-off than a comparable number of depilations, but depilation is repeated over and over — with wax after two or three weeks, with shaving practically every few days. You go through a laser course once and then only deal with maintenance.
